New home in the new year

Ever since we reside in Klang Valley, we have been on the move. Each child’s was born in different houses that we used to live and each house has so much memories that signifies our milestones in life. It’s not only a shelter really. It’s the place we brought the new bundle of joy home, watch the kids and family grow. We have been living in this place for nearly 6 years, with so many ups and downs together. We do not have intention to move out yet, but our neighbour next door is moving out and why do I feel a bit of sadness?

2019 wrap ups

2019 was a challenging year for us having to lose a loved one. Despite I was given a lot more opportunities at work which I gladly and proudly completed, life is so unpredictable that I have got to accept fate lies ahead me. Mum was sick a few months back but she has been doing well now. It is me that I’m still mourning over the loss of my dear papa. To a point that I think life teaches me so many lessons, I have learnt and grown so much but I was not taught about how to deal with the pain of losing someone who is forever gone. Even when my father lost his parents in 10 days which I saw him weeping but I wouldn’t know how painful it was until I felt it myself. Now I feel like a headless chicken, it is so hollow inside. But I have learnt that While I’m grateful for all the things surround me, I hope 2020 will be kinder to all of us.

CNY 2019

CNY this year is so different without my mil. We don’t have a big celebration mourning her passing few months ago but CNY is good for reunions. It’s a long break this year and we enjoyed it to the max. Come to think of it, we wouldn’t know how many more CNY reunions we will have with our loved ones. Just like last year’s CNY, we never knew it was the last to celebrate with mil. Tomorrow everyone is not in the mood to go back to the routine!

New Year 2019

Kicking off 2019 with something good and positive is generally what everyone aims to have, technically the first post of 2019 is meant for something positive too. But I have forgotten how I got it started, just another new year perhaps. I have hoped to enrol myself in yoga class and even have some vigorous exercise for 2018, but it didn’t get materialised. But at least I went swimming with Ayu once in a while. For 2019, I’m not going to have the same resolution anymore because I’m just simply lazy as such. If I must say, it must be I have read a few good books online, I feel content.

Back at work, my office had some internal reshuffle at a very large scale that I’m leaving this desk of 6 years. A desk since 2013, even before the arrival of Cheng. A place with good fengshui I must say that blessed me along journey and watched me grow. There are always ups and downs in life that serve us a lesson, we learn and we grow.

March

Time passes too fast that today is the last day of February! Tomorrow will the the first day of March and soon the first quarter of 2018 just goes by in the blink of an eye. Work starts to pick up beginning this week, I’m thrilled but at the same time feeling stressed. We are still overwhelmed with new year holiday and to get back to the routine is a bit tough. I bet my kids can’t wait for the next holiday!!

春假

We took the longest CNY break this year and couldn’t be happier. Life like this is too good that I really enjoy the holiday so much. Last year we celebrated the CNY in Bangkok, it was a wonderful family trip. We couldn’t do so this year because the school break was too short that Xuan has to go back to school. And our family is getting bigger. As usual, we were in Melaka on the first and second day of CNY. The kids were happy catching up with friends they rarely meet, playing fire crackers and munching the junks nonstop. I was at my bro’s place for the past few days and did nothing! Today I come back to work reluctantly after spending quality time with family. It doesn’t matter where we are, it makes the best memories when we get to spend time with our loved ones. Happy CNY 2018 everyone!

February 2018

How time flies that January is over and today is the first day of February. My new year resolutions of 2018 is not to order sugared drinks when I’m out. I still do that when I’m in good mood. I just can’t help. Then I have stopped taking prawns because of my allergy. I have a serious allergy of itchy mouth whenever I take prawns, but I love it so much that I wouldn’t stop eating it. Comes this year, I want to treat myself better, so I really want to avoid the post symptoms of allergy where I can’t sleep at night, feeling itchy in my nose, mouth and throat. But I just broke my promise last night. Hubby defroze a pack of sea prawns my mum got from hometown, which we have been keeping for months and used some to fry noodles. They tasted so good but I had a sleepless night due to the itchiness. I guess I had too much prawns when I was young so now they take a revenge on me that forbid me to eat them. I love veggies so much that I can be vegan at all times but seriously, I can’t let go of seafood, just yet. I need the seafood to add savoury taste. So now I can’t make myself the Vietnamese  spring rolls, I need to find a substitute!

Day 365 of 2017

I guess we would just sit at home, laze around and watch tv to welcome 2018, while feeling thankful for a great 2017 we have had. For those I love and those who love me, I just can’t thank you enough that I truly feel so much content and at peace knowing that everyone is doing well, albeit some hiccups. Every cloud has its silver lining and so does our life for its ups and downs and that’s all fine. Keep ourselves positive, spread love to family and friends, be kind!

My pillar of support with so much love.

Wrapping up 2017

As usual, 2017 has its fair share of ups and downs. So many new lives come into this big family, that just shows how blessed we are to see the family grow bigger and bigger. I'm wishing everyone around me with inner peace in their minds. That's truly what I have been praying every night before I sleep, besides good health. Self-contentment is an important element that we thank the universe for everyone in the family in the pink of health. Life serves us many things- happy and unhappy moments. But we'd just gotta remain positive- roof above our head, food on the table and many more, we just have to keep ourselves away from negative vibes and love comes in naturally.

On my part, I finally broke through myself to sign up a swimming lesson. My skills are not perfect, it takes a lot of practice but I just did it!!! Hubby went for a swim when we were away. He said it would be my turn when I came back. So I went for it with two boys and it was really really good and refreshing! And I did it again during the long Friday lunch break last week. I just told myself that I should do this again for a better health for myself!

My mil's condition, on the other hand, is getting better. She had been complaining pain most of the times and now we feel her pain management has improved a lot. This is a long battle that it takes so much courage and patience to fight. Hubby has been the one who gives her attention, care and patience.

2018 should be a greater year ahead, a year older and wiser! Xuan is gonna start his P1 and we look forward to it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Xuan organized a party last week to celebrate new year and the father got them a new year gift!

December

December is a very BUSY month. A month to celebrate my youngest brother and friends’ birthdays, some days to go for a short getaway and to go back to hometown. Although I have many deadlines to meet at work, it should be juggled because the new year is coming. While it has many public holidays and going for a getaway is very much we have been looking forward to, I’m at the verge of depression because I’m just so upset over everything that I can’t explain. I lose patience easily over the kids and feel regret after I raise my voice or lay my hands on them. I think this is getting serious that none of the day goes by without me spanking them. Before things get more serious and out of control, I confessed hubby that I would go crazy real soon. Blessing in disguise is that my parents are here again over the weekend, so we send the two boys over. My family help us look after them while we go out to wind down. Hubby has been concerned about my wellbeing and proposed to take me for a short trip. While I appreciate his efforts, I’m also struggling to tell myself to be more patient. So I spend a lot of time on the internet, browsing through a lot of things which may or may not be relevant to myself. The decoration of Christmas market caught my eyes. 10 years ago, we went for a walk at Christmas market in Frankfurt and Berlin. At that time, hubby told me that the market we went was a small one and the crowd wasn’t really there yet because it was still quite early. That, he said, we should experience a bigger and merrier Christmas market. Since it’s December now, I feel their excitement just by looking at those. Days goes by too fast that our parents grow older, the kids grow wiser.

Hey October!!

We have been really looking forward to this month. Entering October, it just tells us that 2017 is coming to an end soon. We were getting stressed with Xuan for he was gonna deliver a farewell speech for his school on their concert and graduation day. Thank goodness everything went well, hubby and I were really nervous because Xuan has been a shy boy and we were scared if he backed off. Then we are going onboard to our vacation of the year. Coming home, the kids will sit for exam and go off for a long school break before the 2018 comes in. It is gonna be a new term for Xuan and Cheng!! It's full of excitements, but before we celebrate each, I just have to bear with working overtime these days, gotta keep my head above the water!!

New year resolutions

I have skipped quite many swimming lessons after I have mastered the basic. I think I only need to practice more. Recently I have the thought to subscribe myself to a yoga class. I'm serious about this and I'm thinking to go for it after XY turns 2. It's amazing that even I myself can't believe I have a thought as such. But to make it really happen, I must pen this down so that I will keep my promise in future. Perhaps it's not a yoga class, but I want to be fit and active. I probably need to go to the gym.

Old buddies

Had a mini reunion with old buddies over the weekend who came back for CNY from Shanghai and Perth. We haven't met for quite some time and it was really a nice catch up. Missing here is another mum who was celebrating CNY in Krabi. I feel touched thinking about our friendship of so many years. Unfortunately I didn't bring my sons along. They were too clingy with their uncles and aunties. Hubby and I were literally off throughout this holiday except tending to the little baby.

CNY 2017

I have been hearing a lot of good news from friends who are expecting lately and I cant be happier. How I miss and love being one, raising the children and its cost aside. At this time, while baby XY turns 4.5mo, things go as perfect, before the episodes of growing up and arguing with me. Oh, also fighting with the siblings. Soon we will welcome the year of the golden rooster and how exciting it is that we are going to celebrate the new year abroad!! The weather has been really good as the temperature has been quite low, minus the light shower every evening. I hope the weather in Bangkok will be just as fine. Happy Chinese New Year everyone. My sis is celebrating it in London and I cant believe myself for asking her to buy winter clothes for the kiddos! Hahaha.

Bye 2016

On the last day of 2016, we were summing it up with an impulse trip to Batu Caves. It has nevertheless been an awesome year. We count our blessings for the good health, love and happy moments we have. We can't be thankful and grateful enough for what we have gone thru. The biggest joy would be the arrival of BB XY!! Thank you everyone for being part of us!! 2017 is gonna be another awesome year ahead. Spread more love, everyone!!

Bump-into-old-friends month

I call this month an old-friends-month. Few days ago, I took a 2 hours off from work to take XY for her 3mo's jab. I was all by myself driving the baby to the clinic. Then I bumped into my classmates whom I have not met since F5. It has been 16 years and we still recognise each other. He said I have not changed much, still remain youthful which made my day. He is still the funny classmate of mine. I was glad that we managed to catch up, had a long chat, it reminded me of our time during UPSR days.
Then I had a meeting somewhere outside my office. I ran into a few batchmates whom I have not seen for 10 years. Time hasn't really passed thru us. I have always thought that my look has changed a lot and none could barely recognise me. But they did. One of them was my tok sidang in those trainee days and he was really a helpful one.
Also, in conjuction with the winter solstice day, I received greetings from my coursemate whom we hardly keep in touch. From there, we exchanged text and updated each other about our life. I feel at peace to talk to her again after so many years.
2016 is going to end. I am humbled to meet my friends again. It is nevertheless a year full of happy moments.

Cheng's achieving new milestone

The CNY this year is the longest break I have after becoming a mum, fully spent in Malaysia. It's the best time with family and now I feel lazy to go back to work. Cheng has suddenly become too chatty as well. Hubby will have to get ready because Cheng will definitely cry when we send him to the nanny this Monday. He asks and talks about everything nowadays, it needs patience to answer him too. Without realising, he has been sleeping thru the night. I hope this will be his new routine, I have been complaining a lot about this young boy getting up at night for feeds, sometimes once or twice, now he sleeps thru it without me knowing when the last time it was. Kids grow up real fast!!
