diaper-free XY

This has come too soon that without us realising, Xin Yi is diaper-free now, even at night. One of the best thing I gotta remember about our Italy and Slovenia trip was Xin Yi decided to wean herself off diapers at bedtime. We thought it was due to location and time difference that she didn't allow us to put on diaper for her. It all began when we fell asleep due to jetlag without having her diaper on. There was no leakage at all, XY started to gain confidence from there. The same thing happened when we got home. Once, I asked if she wanted to put it on again. She was confused and told me nanny said no. It has been nearly a month now, there was only one night of leaking where she peed at 6-7 am in the morning and fell back to sleep again. How time flies that she or rather the kids grow up so fast!! I was just complaining that she hasn't slept thru the night yet. The next moment I know, she sleeps thru the night and is totally diaper-free!

potty training XY

We had been procrastinating to potty train XY. Early this year, mum came over and we left the kids with her. In just two days, she successfully helped us potty train XY and saved us some money on buying diapers. She always believes in potty training the children at early age. So when I was in confinement for my second one, she potty-trained Xuan. Subsequently she did the same for Cheng too. Hubby shared that it’s not easy to do so for girls because the first time he carried XY to the loo, he had to find some tissue paper and cover the toilet seat which is very troublesome. I guess we are hygiene freak that we avoid going to public toilet at all cost. Today XY is not fully diaper free yet. She is still wearing diaper at bedtime. No rush, we are getting there sooner or later.

Cheng got himself out of night-time diapers

It has been weeks that Cheng is totally weaned off diapers at night. Kudos to him for having the determination not to wear diapers before bedtime. As parents, we also have been forgetful to put it on for him but it just goes accident-free. Then, he became confident of himself and since then he completely ditches the diapers. So there goes the episode how he is weaned off. We have a lot to thank the big bro for because the funny and yet-to-be-3 Cheng said he is now a big boy like tor-tor. But didi is his name and none can ever change that.

What's got into me?

My Cheng is potty trained daytime at home but not bedtime yet. His nanny, somehow is a hygiene freak. She will put on pull-up pants for Cheng for fear that Cheng will pee on the wall where she places the potty, simply because Cheng cannot aim properly. That's what she claims. The pull-up pants are thin so it's used only daytime and Cheng doesn't poop in it. He is smart to know that he just has to put it on at her place because the nanny will nag. Everyday after I pick the kids up, the first thing he does is to take off the diaper when we reach home. We went for grocery shopping last night. I reminded myself to buy night tapes for him since the pack he is using now is going to finish. I looked at those diapers on the shelves, was happy with the pull-ups price, so I grabbed and put it in the cart. When we unpacked our stuff at home, I told hubby we still have to get a pack of night tapes for Cheng because I couldn't find it at the mall with reasonable price tag. Looking perplexed, he asked, so what did u buy just now? Since Cheng is potty trained daytime and he is not going to the nanny anymore, what are you going to do with the pull-ups? Ah-ha, I totally forgot that we do not need pull-ups anymore from now on since Cheng will start kindy next week. So the RM30 last night was probably not-a-wise spent but on a good cause. Hahaha...

Potty training Cheng

We have never thought of potty-training Cheng yet although we should. Potty training boys would be easier because they will go pantless around the house, I thought. But Cheng has a bad habit of pulling his birdie, hence the delay. These days we are back in Kelantan and my mum thought it is a good time to potty train him. He started to go pantless yesterday and to my surprise he got the message very fast. Running to the potty to pee and telling the father he wanted to poop, Cheng has mastered it quite good, all within a day. He is ready for it, I must say. The next challenge would be to put him on pants without diaper. I hope he will be able to tell by then.

A neat freak at home

I'm actually not in the mood to blog, nothing, just do not feel like updating my posts. Although I have stories like xuan who has been trying to go diaper-less at nite and cheng who has been extremely cheeky- in short they are just too dramatic. Today, while everyone is asleep, I must pen this down because I suspect my hubby is an OCD. I'm pretty sure he is a neat freak. Because of that I have to read and follow his cues. All the stuffs that I have not been using for a few mths or years must go into the dustbins. So he has been doing many rounds of cleaning. Yesterday, he was on the mission again. The bedroom and his study are still safe under my territory- I'm still not in the mood to sort things out but there are signs that they are gonna be intruded and attacked. I need to pray hard...

potty training

I was reading a friend's post on potty training her dotter with so much amusement. I think we share the same fun of potty training kids. But kinda different from her, the potty training job was taken up by hubby most of the times because I have Cheng with me. So when Xuan requests for wee-wee, hubby will be the one rushing him to the washroom. Xuan is just too playful that he enjoys being carried by the father and they are on the run. Then two of them will run and giggle all the way to the washroom. Sometimes he will request for a toilet break just because he loves to see the father pressing the 'flush' button. There and then, he will force himself to urinate even it is only one drop. I could never imagine that potty training indeed can be very fun. At least, it looks fun in my eyes. Well, if I say this to hubby, he may say, "wait until you become the one who takes him to the loo. Oppsss......"
