Wrapping up 2017

As usual, 2017 has its fair share of ups and downs. So many new lives come into this big family, that just shows how blessed we are to see the family grow bigger and bigger. I'm wishing everyone around me with inner peace in their minds. That's truly what I have been praying every night before I sleep, besides good health. Self-contentment is an important element that we thank the universe for everyone in the family in the pink of health. Life serves us many things- happy and unhappy moments. But we'd just gotta remain positive- roof above our head, food on the table and many more, we just have to keep ourselves away from negative vibes and love comes in naturally.

On my part, I finally broke through myself to sign up a swimming lesson. My skills are not perfect, it takes a lot of practice but I just did it!!! Hubby went for a swim when we were away. He said it would be my turn when I came back. So I went for it with two boys and it was really really good and refreshing! And I did it again during the long Friday lunch break last week. I just told myself that I should do this again for a better health for myself!

My mil's condition, on the other hand, is getting better. She had been complaining pain most of the times and now we feel her pain management has improved a lot. This is a long battle that it takes so much courage and patience to fight. Hubby has been the one who gives her attention, care and patience.

2018 should be a greater year ahead, a year older and wiser! Xuan is gonna start his P1 and we look forward to it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

Xuan organized a party last week to celebrate new year and the father got them a new year gift!

New year resolutions

I have skipped quite many swimming lessons after I have mastered the basic. I think I only need to practice more. Recently I have the thought to subscribe myself to a yoga class. I'm serious about this and I'm thinking to go for it after XY turns 2. It's amazing that even I myself can't believe I have a thought as such. But to make it really happen, I must pen this down so that I will keep my promise in future. Perhaps it's not a yoga class, but I want to be fit and active. I probably need to go to the gym.

Parenting

These days Cheng and XY have been waking up at night, feeling rather grumpy. Hubby and I are having broken sleep even it's during weekend so we feel tired. I have no idea as to why XY keeps getting up, I could only think of teething she is feeling uneasy. Meanwhile, Cheng has been having a fever which comes on and off, especially at night. Hubby who is working from home has been looking after Cheng these days. He had been active so hubby thought he cheated sick until he fell asleep on his arm several times last Friday. So we took him to the paed who found out he had an ear inflammation. I love this doctor because she hardly prescribes medicine and the charges are reasonable. This time, we were proscribed the antibiotics for the first time ever. People say having a hands-on hubby is crucial in raising up children. I fully agree with the statement because I have one too at home. But the comment that it is a breeze for us to raise 3 kids is totally untrue, we have become ZEN, but I feel flattered, haha! So the kids have completed their swimming lesson. I forgot mine is still ongoing until hubby reminded me when we were having tea break at Starbucks. He looked after the kids while I was away. So before I went off to attend my class, Xuan is so a mummy's boy that he almost cried when I left. He asked me to kiss and hug him even I was going away for just one hour.

May

The long weekend is over and it's finally May now!! Holidays are always fun although we didn't do much last weekend. On the weekend, the kids will skip nap and play all day. Then they put on a sulky face when we talk about school. Xuan and Cheng didn't attend their swimming lesson due to the heavy downpour. Instead we went to an indoor pool! The boys admire the dad so much that they always go 'why daddy knows everything?' Today, Cheng asked, why does daddy swim so fast. Lucky daddy who is always their role model. Baby XY has finally recovered from roseola and is all active again, she is still commando crawling and trying to crawl on four. She manages to push herself and stand up with support but crying for help because she is just not so confident enough. Cheng is falling sick today so he is gonna skip school for a day!! It looks like Xuan is gotta be alone at the school.

Swimming

The boys are going to complete their swimming lessons tomorrow. It is going to be a mixture of ups and downs and I'm in dilemma whether to continue the lesson again. Xuan and Cheng have been doing well and making positive progress. Xuan is able to swim in deep water and his water confidence level was superb, except he can't change breath yet. But being a young boy, he is not focused and has been playing a lot throughout the lessons. He will be sad if he gets a male coach who always takes him to deep water so he wont get to play. Anyway, he got an earful from me for being too playful, he tickled his female coach who was teaching other kids during his class. Cheng on the other hand was still too young to really swim in deep water, he has been doing flutter kicks and some hand strokes but he still needs a lot of practices. May would be a busy month for all of us so we cant commit the weekends throughout the month. The kids are surely gonna miss the pool a lot.

36 hours

We came back from a short trip in Singapore last night and everyone was having so much fun! Congratulations to my sis and bil on the new bundle of joy! The baby gal's birth weight is 3.75kg and height is 55cm, such a huge baby she is! And my sis gave birth to her naturally, although the hubby said she almost gave up.

As usual, my sons enjoyed the time in the pool and felt sad to come home. I, too, had a splendid time swimming and relaxing in the pool and jacuzzi. My sis had been helping me look after the kids while I swam. Baby XY, however, was so fussy that she refused to accept everyone except hubby and me. By the time she started to accept them, it was time to leave. But she accepted my sis' breasts and enjoyed her milk, no whining at all!! How funny!!

Swimming

Earlier this year, I have spent quite an amount to enrol Xuan and Cheng to the swimming class nearby. I have always wanted them to learn swimming because it's a survival skill that everyone should pick up but myself had no courage to learn. And most importantly, they love water and have been too free over the weekends, very energetic that they play all day long without a nap. So hubby said yes to my plan and I successfully enrolled them. The first few classes were fun until Cheng decided not to get into the water when hubby was away to send his car for service. The next class, I managed to talk him into getting into the pool. I was glad. But then again, it was Xuan who refused to do the flutter kicks to show the instructors before the class dismissed. I was disappointed because he screamed in the pool and demanded me to go inside. Sometimes, I fail miserably and have to agree with hubby that mummy is a major spoiler when it comes to parenting. He had got an earful from me thereafter because I couldn't tolerate the scene as such from a kindy-going kid like him. Then, we make a practice of not going out on the day they have their swimming lessons. The classes thereafter went on smoothly. But I still feel it is slow progress for kids like Cheng and I have wasted RM350 to enrol him. Although the boys have been looking forward to their class every week, Cheng with so much confidence getting himself in the water, he still can't do push and glide because he can't hold his breathe, just yet. I should just be positive minded like my old friends told me, let him have some fun like the big bro!!

On a positive side, I have gained the courage to register myself to the class and paid a hefty RM400 for it. I just couldn't master swimming even after hubby taught me or the instructor during my training days guided me. Since that I have paid for the lessons now, I better learn something, to tick off the skill that I have always wanted to learn. I have gone to the classes twice, all is good, but I feel that I do not need to pay so much for the total 12 classes, if my aim is just to learn to swim. For an adult like me, I think probably I can swim after 3-4 lessons.

So last week, we were all excited waiting to attend our classes, my sons' starts at 5 while mine at 6. Unfortunately, it was a heavy downpour so the classes were cancelled. Hubby sensed our disappointment and took us to an indoor public pool instead. We took turn to swim, while I swam, he looked after the kids at the children pool and mm. I can proudly say that I can swim quite a distance except I haven't learnt the breathing technique. But it is so fun!!

Without hubby who babysits the kiddos, I'm still nowhere near swimming! What an achievement for everyone of us!!

Swimming lesson

After a long school break, the kids attended their first swimming lesson today!! Both were very excited and swore they will come back again next week. Xuan and Cheng surprisingly enjoyed the class so much although it was the first time meeting the coach. Xuan was really eager to learn with his peers while Cheng has been very confident to get into the pool despite it's quite deep for his height. He ended up tip-toeing and jumping to avoid swallowing the water. What a tiring day.

KPI
