Meanwhile, despite hubby was not feeling well for having an itchy sore throat, he took us to Genting Highland, a place that we have not been for more than 2 years. The kids were just so happy to take the cable car up there. It was not a good choice to go at this time as the queue at the skyway was really really long! But Xuan was adamant to try it again. Coming home, he was counting his experiences taking cable cars on his trips. He still remembers the scenes he had in Langkawi, Seoul and Taipei. It is just so amazing that the kids do remember that! And Cheng was asking about tram ride too. When we walked past the snow world, the kids bugged us to go inside to reminisce their winter trip in Germany last year, we have to turn down the request anyway. Seeing how the kids recall the experience they have, it makes those trips worthwhile because it was truly just so priceless, except Xuan couldn't recall his Europe trip in 2012 at all. One day, I tell myself that one day, if the circumstances permit, hubby and I should take them on another trip abroad just to experience winter again. It's one of my hopes for the kids since we are from tropical country and the kids ought to learn the four seasons especially winter.
Long holiday
While I was feeling a bit upset for not being able to fully utilize my long holiday to go back to my hometown, I did not entirely feel guilty for that because an off day on Friday is truly a bonus. This long holiday was so eventful. My sis was here, we had some good food. Then it was also a meaningful holiday with the kids too. But what made me proud has always been my parents getting themselves busy with their hiking activities. Just last year, dad made it to the top of the Kinabalu Mount. Mum was just like me that we did not continue the trip the next day. However, it was already very encouraging for her to have the stamina and courage to reach the pitstop and enjoy the view. My bro was worried about their expedition and decided to go with them. It was amazing for himself and the wife for making it to the top too without proper training prior the trip. This year, dad challenged himself and went for the Tahan Mount Expedition. Having some opportunities to work with people in local tourism industry, I have known this is one of the toughest trips for the hikers, even tougher than Kinabalu's. It was nearly a week long and mum did not go with dad. And of course, dad came back feeling content for being able to accomplish the mission with friends. And my office who organized the same trip at the same time bumped into him and they sent me their wefie pics, teasing me for not joining them. Now, they went for another trip in Terengganu. Looking at the pics dad shared, they were just excited like kids taking pics with the waterfalls.
