my bihun adventure...

i have been craving fried bihun that i can hardly find, even in my hometown. when we were small, my sis and i loved thai/ kampung/ malay style fried bihun from a restaurant nearby. we din get to eat it very often. but once in a while, we'd ask for some money from mama and went to the restaurant for bihun take-away. the fried bihun packed in a clear plastic sheet and wrapped with old newspaper was our tea meal. some chopped chinese chives was placed on top of it as garnishing and a small slice of lime was put at one corner for those who liked tangy flavor. we would always sprinkle the lime juice on the bihun and it just tasted so perfectly delicious and aromatic. that was many years ago before we moved out from papa's shop.

weeks ago, my sis prepared mee-siam and sent me the recipe thereafter. i forced myself to try it out even though i hate the fried oil smell. but, however religiously i followed through the recipe, i cant find the old time savory bihun that im looking for. anyway, this was my great attempt, kudos to my cooking adventure.
